La Xbox One X sort le 7 novembre, et comme l’a annoncé Microsoft, tous les jeux Xbox One, mais aussi Xbox 360 et Xbox rétro-compatibles, seront plus ou moins améliorés sans qu’aucun patch ne soit nécéssaire (temps de chargements, boost de fps…). Le procédé utilisé ne sera pas de l’émulation hardware comme le fait la PS4 Pro pour les jeux PS4, mais un support des nouveaux composants nativement pour tous les jeux, avec les éventuels problèmes de compatibilité que cela implique comme le mentionne l’excellent article d’Eurogamer, qui explique très bien la différence entre les 2 approches.
Mais, pour réellement tirer pleinement profit de la puissance de la Xbox One X, les développeurs pourront patcher les jeux existants, afin de les passer en 4K, 60 fps, HDR, Dolby Atmos etc etc… On sait déjà que tous ne profiteront pas forcément des mêmes améliorations : certains seront en 4K dynamique (la définition s’adapte selon l’intensité de la scène dans le jeu), d’autres en 4K native, plus de détails, framerate boosté, etc… J’ai sacrément hâte de voir tourner les -déjà magnifiques- Gears of War 4 et Forza Horizon 3 en 4K ;)
